Day 1 - Arrival of flights in Errachidia

Transfer from Errachidia airport to our hotel. Safety briefing.

Day 2 - Errachidia - Merzouga.

We ride straight to the Erg Chebbi dunes for a first look at this terrain. After a short riding exercise we take sandy tracks and a dry river bed that need careful, precise riding to the rest area. We then climb the highest dunes.

Day 3 - Merzouga - Ouzina.

Departure south-south-west. After a short crossing of the south of Erg Chebbi we cross the J. Bedoura hills through cols and narrow canyons to another dune field: Sneguie, with a different dune shape. After coming down from the erg we ride to Mount Isk, an old coral reef. The climb, on pastel rock and gold sand, is both a surprise and a test. The programme continues with the old oasis of Begaa, then Taouz, and finally the last dune field of the day, Erg Ouzina, with high dunes against the black mountains above them. Night in a gite at the foot of the dunes.

Day 4 - Ouzina - Merzouga

We return to Merzouga by different tracks. First we cross the wide plateau of Oued Rheris. A demanding stretch of loose sand and wild vegetation. Soon after we reach the "Enchanted City" (Bou Hallou), an old fortress and adjoining village whose origins are unclear. It is thought to have been a Portuguese settlement. Then, riding back up the Rheris for several kilometres, we ride sand and gravel that needs care. Another notable stretch is the loop around Jebel Tijekh, a rock formation that looks like American desert mountains. After faster tracks and more technical sections we arrive in Merzouga and leave the largest erg, the El Chebbi dune field.

Day 5 - International departure.

Transfer to the airport for your return flight. End of our services.
